Solar Chargers

A Solar Charger in many ways is the best source of energy for rechargeable batteries:

• Using energy from the sun, there's a a zero cost in carbon for a recharge;
• You're completely independent of wall sockets;
• There isn't yet a tax on sunlight, so using your solar charger is free.

The amount of power a solar battery charger can deliver is however limited: you couldn't carry a solar panel large enough to provide the same amount of electricity as a domestic 13amp socket. Many solar chargers are thus designed to work with rechargeable batteries of modest capacity, and to be left charging for as long as there is light.

Using advanced solar cell and lithium-ion battery technologies, PICO will charge its internal battery in as little as 10 hours, or 3-4 hours when charging via USB.
