| The Energizer Ultra Compact charger has already received good reviews. As the name suggests, compact is what this charger has been optimised for. It charges only NiMH batteries, but in either AA or AAA sizes. It charges two or four batteries at a time, and the bays can be converted from AA to AAA in pairs. This even allows you to charge 2 AA and 2 AAA NiMH batteries at once! The charger has a try which slides out to accomodate the batteries, and slides back in for transport. Offering even more space savings, the Energizer Ultra Compact charger is designed for plug-in use, and doesn't need an additional transformer or mains lead. It will deal with any mains voltage from 100V-240V. The charger case includes a flip-down 2-prong plug for use in the USA, but the charger comes fitted with a standard UK 3-prong plug, in the form of an adapter that clips firmly onto the charger. The included 2500mAh NiMH AA batteries have plenty of capacity to power modern digital cameras and other power-hungry equipment designed for rechargeable batteries. From empty, the charger takes about 8.5 hours to fully charge the included batteries (or 850mAh AAA batteries if you have those). It has an automatic timer to stop charging after this length of time, making it a straight forward "overnight" charger, which is happy to accompany you on your travels. | |
