Ansmann Energy 8 Plus Charger

The Ansmann Energy 8 Plus charger is an upgrade to the popular Energy 8 charger. Upgraded to include alkaline battery detection, and zero change in voltage and temperature detection (0dV and 0dT) this charger also has the standard -dV detection, maximum temperature and safety timer features. The Ansmann Energy range of chargers are designed to operate with care and maintenance in mind, applying as much TLC to your batteries as possible. Offering a reasonably fast charge time (AA 2500mAh NiMH batteries take about 5 hours to charge fully), this charger really wins on care for your rechargeable batteries. When compared to super-fast charging, the high temperatures and large charge currents can cause batteries to deteriorate quicker and thus using this charger for all your rechargeable batteries really can prolong the life of the batteries.

When you insert a battery, the charger inspects it, and if appropriate will start a "refresh cycle". This involves a complete discharge, followed by a full charge, which in some cases will result in improved performance for batteries suffering from memory effect. Each individually controlled charge bay gives a quick indication of battery charge level before starting the charge process. The charger has two slots for PP3/9V batteries, and four bays which can take AA, AAA, C, or D size batteries. Two bays can take two AA or AAA size batteries each, thus charging up to 6 AA batteries at once. It is designed to stay plugged in on your desk, so that you can load batteries as needed, and leave them in the charger until you want to use them. A universal mains voltage (100V-240V) adapter means you don't have to be without your charger when you're away. If you're using a range of battery sizes, and want your batteries treated with as much care as possible while not wanting to worry about all of the details yourself, this is the charger for you.
